B.S. in Forensic Science conc. in Biology - Minor in Chemistry

You’re not going to know everything once you graduate. You still have a lot of learning to do, whether it be learning (or re-learning) topics in your field of study, learning life lessons, etc.

What did you learn about yourself?

How to ask for emotional help. I always advocate for mental health but never actually listened to my own advice until after graduation.

What were your proudest accomplishments or highlights from attending college?
  • Making Dean’s List twice.

  • Getting an A on an O-Chem final.

  • Having my research project from my forensic science class be a candidate to be published.

2020 & 2021 were extremely challenging under the confinement and constant menace of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully there were some silver lining and lessons learned.
What were the highlights or accomplishments of your Senior academic year 2021/22, after all that hard time.

Being able to graduate and find a job straight after college.

Thinking of the whole 4 years, what were the greatest challenges you faced? How did you overcome them?

My STEM courses were really difficult for me. I constantly contemplated switching majors and giving up in science but I was able overcome such thoughts and finish strong.

It definitely couldn't have been done without the support of those around me. My family always gave me kind words, my friends with whom I shared study spaces. My support organizations, Bella included, called me, made plans with me, and even offered additional monetary support. It was indeed an effort of a village.

I also think being a commuter student all 4 years of college didn’t allow me to fully experience the college life. I still had familial responsibilities that I could not escape.

If you could go back in time 4 years ago, what would you tell your 18 year old self? If you could do-over, what would you do differently?

MOVE OUT!

What advice would you give to an incoming freshman?

Be safe, ask for help, enjoy the moments, and document as much as you can.

Now that you have graduated, have you formulated any new short term / long term goals?

Travel more, get a raise from my job, and possibly apply to grad school.

How did being a Bella Scholar contribute to the success of achieving your goals?

I was able to graduate with no debt!

What is your current job? and your dream job?

I was very blessed to find a job straight after college as a Research Associate I.

My dream job will be to become a Forensic Scientist-
