Rocky Mountain PBS Kids

One of Bella Charitable Foundation’s pillars of support is for organizations that engage youth in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that foster social-emotional growth, confidence, and positive relationships. Our grantees and partners affect today’s youth by helping them become resilient, self-aware individuals with a strong sense of community.

We support Rocky Mountain PBS Kids because of their commitment to creating educational media that centers and celebrates diverse cultural representation. In 2024, Bella partnered with RMPBS Kids and Storytellers of the Ancestral Red Road (SOAR) in Pueblo, Colorado, to create immersive storytelling experiences that interwove Chicano, Indigenous, and Spanish-speaking cultural traditions into joyful, educational programming.

Who they are

A branch of Rocky Mountain Public Media, RMPBS Kids is dedicated to providing engaging and entertaining educational content for kids across the state of Colorado. They create free educational programming with a focus on science, literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Within these programs, they’ve developed unique and diverse original characters that reflect the children they serve in the community.

What they do

In addition to educational content and entertainment, RMPBS Kids partners with local organizations to develop initiatives that promote the importance of health and well-being. They also host community events, bringing families together to share educational resources and build stronger connections.

Why it’s important

In an increasingly digital world, kids rely heavily on media to understand the world around them. RMPBS Kids plays a vital role in supporting early childhood education and development in Colorado. They offer a safe, joyful, and educational environment for kids to learn new things while watching characters that look just like them—and just as importantly, others who don’t—experience the world and overcome challenges.
