CASEL, the leading organization in Social Emotional Learning, defines SEL as “the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.”
(starting Fall 2023)
Bella is partnering with Village Exchange Center of Aurora, CO and Second Star on the Right bookstore of Denver, CO to provide a family storytime series, centered around emotionally powerful stories featuring:
Blacks, Indigenous people, People of Color (BIPOC)
Latinos, Asian and Pacific Islanders
Refugees
Immigrants
Forgotten historical figures, especially women
LGBTQIA+
Bella supports Denver and Jefferson County Schools through our partnership with Changing Perspectives, a non-profit dedicated to SEL (Social Emotional Learning) curriculum.
As a result of this partnership, we have been able to impact more than 4,000 students, empower 55 educators in 10 schools, and support parents.
