No matter where you come from,
you can do it if you really want to.
It doesn’t matter if you are a first generation, or if English is not your first language.
Tell us about the highlights of this academic year 2020, or accomplishments.
Graduating with Honors. Summa Cum Laude!

I think that it reflects all the hard work I put all these years.
What advice would you give to an incoming freshman?
Don’t be shy! Ask for help when you need it. There are a lot of resources available for you.

Also, use Grammarly, and Thesaurus. Those are really helpful for papers.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I am strong.

There were days that I only slept two hours, specially on my third semester of college. I worked so hard to get into psy, and get all the requirements done by my second year. One semester I even petitioned 21 units, worked and volunteered at the same time.

There were many obstacles because I didn’t pass the ACT or SAT and I was behind classes, but I was able to get in.
What was the greatest challenge you faced? How did you overcome it?
If you could go back in time 4 years ago, what would you tell your 18 year old self? If you could do-over, what would you do differently?
I would tell myself to not be scared of college, and I would have done a double major.

I would have majored in child and adolescent development as well as Psychology.
How did being a Bella Scholar contribute to the success of achieving your goals?
By providing emotional and financial support when we need it the most.
I believe that one of the challenges I faced in college is having English as my second language. Sometimes I didn’t feel smart. I felt that others were more capable than me because they speak English fully.

However, throughout the semesters, I found out that it wasn’t true. At the same time, I stopped being shy and started to ask for help when I didn’t understand something.
What were your proudest accomplishments or highlights from attending college?
Honors: Summa Cum Laude.
